Types and application of 16G FC SFP+ optical modules

16G SFP+ optical module is mainly used in FC (fibre channel) network. Fibre channel technology is a kind of network storage switching technology, which can provide long distance and high bandwidth, and can realize the transmission of large data files among storage, server and client nodes.

The operating rates of fibre channel are 2Gbps, 4Gbps, 8Gbps, 16Gbps, 32Gbps, 64Gbps and 128Gbps. It is mainly used to connect computer storage devices. The 16G FC SFP+ optical module is divided into 100m and 10km products with transmission distance of 100m. The wavelength of 100m module is 850nm, which supports the transmission rate up to 14.025gbps. The dual LC interface supports DDM. The operating temperature range is 0 ° C ~ 70 °C. Used with OM3 multi-mode patch cord, the transmission distance is up to 100m.

Another product with a transmission distance of 10km has a wavelength of 1310nm, supports transmission rate up to 14.025gbps, dual LC interface, support DDM, working temperature range from 0 ° C to 70 ° C. Used with DX LC-LC OS2 single-mode patch cord, transmission distance up to 10km.

16G FC BIDI SFP+ optical module

The 16G FC bidi SFP+ optical module adopts DiBi transmission technology, 1270nm/1330nm, supports up to 14.025gbps transmission rate, single LC interface, working temperature range of 0 °C ~ 70 °C. Used with DX LC-LC OS2 single-mode patch cord, transmission distance up to 10km.

16G FC CWDM SFP+ optical module

The 16G FC CWDM SFP+ optical module adopts the CWDM transmission technology, the wavelength is 1470-1610nm, supports the transmission rate up to 14.025gbps, dual LC interface, supports DDM, and the working temperature range is 0 °C-70 °C.Used with DX LC-LC OS2 single-mode patch cord, transmission distance up to 40km.

16G FC DWDM SFP+ optical module

The 16G FC DWDM SFP + optical module adopts DWDM transmission technology, the wavelength is 1528.77-1563.05nm, supports transmission rate up to 14.025gbps, dual LC interface, supports DDM, working temperature range from 0 °C to 70 °C. Used with DX LC-LC OS2 single-mode patch cord, transmission distance up to 40km.

Application scenarios

The 16G FC SFP+ optical module is usually used in the storage area network (SAN), which is used with the fiber switch and inserted into the FC port of the front-end channel of the switch.
