40G data center commonly used optical module

40G network has been widely used in data center, and optical module is one of the essential components of data center equipment interconnection. Next ETU-LINK will introduce the types of 40G QSFP+ optical modules to you.

40GBASE-SR4 optical module: It uses MPO connector with working wavelength of 850nm. The transmission distance can reach 100m when used with OM3 multimode fiber; and can reach 150m when used with OM4 multimode fiber, which is mainly used to realize the short distance connection between network equipment in the data center.

The 40G QSFP+ SR4 optical module can connect two 40G network devices with MPO optical fiber patch cord, and can also be used with MPO-LC optical fiber branch patch cord to realize the connection between 40G and 10G network equipment.

40GBASE-eSR4 optical module: It adopts MPO connector with working wavelength of 850nm. The transmission distance can reach 300m when used with OM3 multimode fiber; and can reach 400m when used with OM4 multimode fiber, which is mainly used to realize the short distance connection between network equipment in data center.

40GBASE-PSM4 optical module: It uses MPO connector, the working wavelength is 1310nm, when used with single-mode optical fiber OS2, the transmission distance can reach up to 2/10KM.

40GBASE-LR4 optical module: It adopts QSFP+ package form, and the working wavelength is 1271/1291/1311/1331nm. When used with single-mode optical fiber OS2, the transmission distance can reach up to 10KM. It is mainly used to realize the long-distance connection between network equipment in data center.

40GBASE-ER4 optical module: It adopts QSFP+ package form, and the working wavelength is 1271/1291/1311/1331nm. When used with single-mode optical fiber OS2, the transmission distance can reach up to 40km. It is mainly used to realize the medium distance connection between network equipment in data center.

40GBASE-BIDI Single bidirectional optical module: It adopts QSFP+ package form and uses duplex LC connector. The working wavelength is 850/900nm. When used with OM3 multimode fiber, the transmission distance can reach 100m; when used with OM4 multimode fiber, the transmission distance can reach 150m.
