It is simply understood that the active optical cable consists of two optical transceivers and one patch cord, and at both ends of optical transceivers composed of different length of OM3 or OM4 multimode optical fibers.

What are the types of 100G QSFP28 AOC active cables?
100G AOC divides into 100G QSFP28 active optical cable AOC and 100G QSFP28 to 4X 25G SFP28 active optical cable. The former is an optical module receiver at both ends; one-to-one transmission is realized; the latter is a 100G QSFP28 interface at one end. At the other end are four 25G SFP28 interfaces that can provide 100G data transmission for customers.

100G QSFP28 AOC active optical cable is used for short distance multi-channel data communication and interconnection applications.
It sets up four data channels in each direction, with a bandwidth of 100Gbps. Each channel can use OM3 fibers or 100 meters of OM4 fibers, running can be up to 70m at 28.05Gbps.
