10G SFP+ DWDM optical module solution

In this blog, ETU-Link will take 10G SFP+ DWDM optical module as an application case to introduce its application in DWDM optical transmission system.


The equipment used in this case are: DWDM wavelength division multiplexer & demultiplexer, 10G SFP+ DWDM 80KM optical module, EDFA optical amplifier, 10G switch.




Schematic analysis:

As the total length of the link is 500KM, and the capacity required by the service is 80G,in order to save optical fiber resources. DWDM system is adopted as the transmission scheme.Because the long distance transmission will be affected by loss and dispersion, the signal quality will be poor, so it is necessary to configure the relay room to amplify the signal relay and dispersion compensation, to achieve transparent transmission of the original signal without distortion.In order to reduce the number of relay room, 10G SFP+ DWDM 80KM optical module is selected. The connection diagram is shown above.



The advantage of DWDM scheme is that it can realize high capacity transmission and save optical fiber resources, especially for ultra-long distance transmission applications, which can minimize the total cost.
