Cisco 550X series switches are mainly used for the establishment of 10G network for small and medium-sized enterprises. ETU-Link will introduce the optical module solution of Cisco 550X series switches.

Cisco 550X is configured with Ethernet SFP+ slot, which can support 10 Gigabit and Gigabit network transmission rates. The SFP+ slot can select the optical module with the corresponding transmission distance according to the distance of the connected equipment. 10G SFP+ dual fiber optical module can be divided into multi-mode optical module and single-mode optical module. The transmission distance of 10G multi-mode optical module is 300m, and the transmission distance of 10G single-mode optical module is more than 2KM. The supported transmission distances are 2KM, 10KM, 20KM, 40KM, 60KM, 80KM and 100KM. Among them, 10G multimode optical module needs to be used with multimode OM3 fiber jumper, while 10G single-mode optical module needs to be used with single-mode fiber OS2.

The 10G SFP+ dual fiber optical module of ETU-LINK complies with SFP+ MSA and 10G Ethernet standards, with a maximum transmission rate of 10.3G. The interface type is dual fiber LC. For more details of optical module parameters, please refer to the following table.

Of course, the transmission carrier for Cisco 10 Gigabit switch is not limited to 10G SFP+ dual fiber optical module, but also 10G SFP+ single fiber optical module, 10G DAC high-speed cable and 10G AOC active optical cable. When purchasing optical modules, we need to explain to the manufacturer what brand of equipment, transmission distance, single fiber / double fiber and other parameter information the optical modules are used for, so as to ensure normal use after receiving the goods.
