Interconnection solution between Huawei 10 Gigabit switch and Intel Network Card

Today, ETU-LINK will introduce the connection scheme of Huawei 10 megabyte switch and 10 megabyte network card. First, we will understand the port type and optical port type of the ten megabyte network card equipped by Huawei wantrillion switch. Huawei's 10 megabyte access network switch is equipped with down line 10G SFP+ port, which is mainly connected to the access of the ten thousand megabyte server, while the 40G QSFP+ port upstream is mainly used to upgrade the needs of higher network bandwidth. The function of optical network card is to expand the optical port of server. The NIC of intel 10G server network card contains two SFP+ optical ports, and the two ports are independent from each other and are not affected. It can save the server slot and realize the expansion of the port.

 

 

Taking Huawei S6720S-26Q-LI-24S-AC 10 Gigabit switch as an example, it is equipped with 24 downlink 10GE SFP+ ports and 2 uplink 40GE QSFP+ ports. The 10GE SFP + port can be connected to the 10 Gigabit server in the data center, and the two upstream 40GE QSFP+ ports can be reserved for future network upgrade.

 

 

If the distance between 10 Gigabit access switch and 10 Gigabit server network card is not far, we can use 10G SFP+ DAC direct attach cable (ESDPX-330CNxx), 10G SFP+ AOC active optical cable (ESAX-32CDxx) and 10g multimode optical module (ES85X-3LCD03). The transmission distance of 10G SFP+ DAC high-speed cable is about 7 meters; The transmission distance of 10G SFP+ AOC active optical cable is within 300m; 10G multimode optical module used with multimode OM3 patch cord, the transmission distance can reach 300m.

 

If the transmission distance is long, we can use 10G single-mode optical modules. The common 10G single-mode optical modules mainly include 10G SFP+ 1.4km (ES31X-3LCD1), 10G SFP+ LR 10km (ES31X-3LCD10), 10G SFP+ ER 40km (ES31X-3LCD40), which can be used with single-mode optical fiber OS2.
