What is 10G CWDM XFP optical module?

In the optical fiber communication network, the optical transceiver module which realizes the photoelectric conversion function occupies a very important position. The high-speed optical module has become the focus of the major operators, but the 10G Optical module still has its value. Next, ETU-LINK will introduce the 10G CWDM XFP optical module.

10G CWDM XFP optical module adopts hot swap XFP package. XFP optical module is small in size and compact in shape, and occupies a small area of circuit board, which is a little similar to the optical module in the form of miniaturized pluggable optical module package. It conforms to XFP MSA, IEEE 802.3 standard protocol, SDH STM64/SONET OC-192/10G FC transmission standard, and supports 9.9Gbps to 11.3Gbps.

ETU-LINK 10G CWDM XFP series optical transceiver module has 18 optional channels (1270-1610nm), and the transmission distance can be up to 10km to 80km through optical fiber. It is widely used in 10G Ethernet and optical transport network (OTN OTU2e), compatible with synchronous optical network (SONET OC-192 / SDH STM-64) and 10G fibre channel.

The transmitting end of 10G CWDM XFP optical module uses optical transmitting subsystem, main chip, temperature control circuit and control circuit, input equalizer, multi rate CDR, EML and APC integrated chip to drive laser to realize electro-optic conversion.

At the receiving end, the optical receiving subsystem, main chip, control circuit and APD are used to convert the detected optical signal into electrical signal, amplify and reshape it, and then output it. In this module, the MCU is used to control the transmitting driver chip to realize the digital diagnosis function.

At present, the common 10G CWDM XFP on the market can support the transmission distance of 10km, 20km, 40km and 80km. The 10G CWDM XFP provided by ETU-LINK has very stable transmission performance, and it has the functions of signal modulation, serial / deserializer, MAC, clock and data recovery (CDR), and electronic dispersion compensation (EDC) compared with SFP+. Therefore, when the switch router does not integrate the above functions on the motherboard, XFP optical module is needed to make up.
