100G QSFP28 ZR4 Optical Module Introduction

With the rapid development of cloud computing, big data and Ethernet, operators upgrade their data centers to a higher data rate, which further increases the demand for 100G. The pattern is also shifting from 100G. 100G QSFP28 optical module includes SR4, PSM4, LR4, CWDM4, ER4, ZR4 and so on. The 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical module is mainly used for switch and router of data center, long distance transmission connection and adopts 4-channel 28G NRZ wavelength division multiplexing technology (LWDM4). It is a 4-channel full-duplex transceiver module and mainly applies to 100 Gbit/s Ethernet, data center, and telecommunication scenarios.

         

 

In terms of product features, 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical module adopts hot-swappable QSFP28 package, operating temperature is 0°C-70°C, maximum speed up to 103.125Gbps (4x25G NRZ), after cost optimization, can achieve up to 80km transmission, when the system opens FEC, The transmission distance is up to 90km through a pair of single-mode optical fibers.

 

In structure, the 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical module is at the transmitter, and the four-channel serial data is recovered by the CDR and transmitted to the four laser drivers. At the receiving end, the optical signal of the four channels is amplified by SOA and then demultiplexed by an integrated photodemultiplexer. Each path of optical signal recovery is carried out by a PIN detector, and finally transmitted to a CAU-4-compliant output driver through a cross-resistance amplifier and a CDR.

 

In addition, the optical module is small in size and low in power consumption, with a maximum power consumption of less than 6W. It can provide a point-to-point solution in the data center. Its interface is dual LC optical port, with built-in digital diagnostic function, and conforms to the RoHS environmental standards (lead-free) and QSFP28 MSA and 100G ZR4 Ethernet standards.
