Introduction and application of 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module

In recent years, in order to cope with the rapid development of ultra-definition video, cloud storage and cloud computing services, major IT giants and telecom operators around the world are actively preparing to build large data centers. The 10G network can no longer meet the current data transmission needs, and the emergence of the 40G network has greatly eased the pressure on the data center. Next, ETU-LINK will introduce a 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module.


Introduction to the 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module


40G QSFP+ LR4 optical transceiver adopts hot-swappable QSFP+ package, and its working wavelength is 1271, 1291, 1311, 1331nm. It is also a 4-channel full-duplex transceiver module. Its maximum speed is as high as 44.6Gbps, dual LC optical ports, and the transmission distance up to 10km through single-mode optical fiber OS2.

The working principle of 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module


At the transmitting end, 4 10Gbps serial data streams are sent to the driver chip, and the driver chip controls the direct modulation laser, and then the optical signals output by the 4 lasers are loaded into a single-mode fiber through an optical multiplexer and an LC connector middle.


At the receiving end, 4 channels of 10Gbps optical signals flow through the optical demultiplexer to 4 channels, and the optical signal of each channel flows through the PIN-type photodetector and the limiting amplifier for output.
