QSFP28 ER4 optical module connection solution for 100G Ethernet

Nowadays, 100G products are more and more widely used, and the demand for long distance is also increasing. For 40km application scenario, 100G ER4 optical module can simplify the transmission network, reduce the relay equipment, and reduce the maintenance cost. Today, we are going to talk about the 100G QSFP28 ER4 optical module.


100G QSFP28 ER4 optical module description:

The 100G QSFP28 ER4 optical module adopts WDM multiplexing wavelength division technology, the wavelength is 1295.56~1309.14nm, and the packaging form is QSFP28. Using LC duplex connector, the maximum transmission distance can reach 40km use with single-mode fiber, with DDM function, which has the advantages of small volume and low power consumption.

The transmitter of the 100G QSFP28 ER4 optical module adopts a DML laser supporting dual rate. The power consumption is less than 3.8W at 0 ~ 70 ℃ full temperature, which meets the requirements of green energy saving in the data center.

100G QSFP28 ER4 connection solution:

100G ER4 optical module is connected with 100G switch, up to 40KM. Etu-link’s 100G ER4 optical module has high receiving sensitivity and low power consumption, which provides an economical and applicable solution for the long-distance application of 100GE port between computer rooms.

Application:

1. Applied to OTN equipment, it supports OTU4 rate and can transmit 40KM without forward error correction. It can simplify the transmission network of metropolitan area network, reduce relay equipment, reduce system delay and operation and maintenance costs.

2. It is applied to DCI network of data center, and provides convenient choice for the long-distance interconnection application of 100G port between data center machine rooms.

In general, the 100G QSFP28 ER4 optical module is suitable for long-distance connection and has the advantage of low power consumption, which provides an economic and applicable solution for DCI optical interconnection between distributed data centers.
