New Product Preview | 800G OSFP DR8/2 × DR4 Ready to Launch

  • June 25. 2026

With the rapid development of AI computing power and the continuous surge in data center traffic, 400G networks are gradually reaching their performance bottlenecks. To adapt to the needs of high-density, low-latency computing network upgrades, ETU-LINK Optical Communication has launched a pre-launch campaign for new products, showcasing two self-developed 800G high-speed optical modules based on the same hardware: 800G OSFP DR8 and 800G OSFP 2 × DR4. These products are currently in the market launch preparation stage, providing the industry with professional and differentiated short-to-medium-range interconnection solutions.

1. 800G OSFP DR8 Optical Module

This product adopts an 8 × 100G PAM4 single-path parallel architecture, providing pure 800G high-bandwidth transmission. The modules use 1310nm single-mode optical devices, with a standard transmission distance of 500m, suitable for short-distance backbone interconnects in data centers. Based on OSFP standardized packaging and optimized heat dissipation structure, it supports long-term high-load uninterrupted operation and complies with IEEE 802.3df and CMIS 5.0+ industry standards. It possesses single-port full-bandwidth transmission capability, a simple link architecture, and is suitable for high-density, high-bandwidth new computing center network construction.

2. 800G OSFP 2 × DR4 Optical Modules

Based on the same hardware, it adopts a dual-link logical architecture, internally splitting into two independent 400G channels to synthesize a total bandwidth of 800G. It also uses 1310nm single-mode transmission, 500m transmission distance, and maintains the same packaging specifications and hardware materials as the DR8. Its biggest feature is the independent service carrying of dual channels, which logically enables dual 400G traffic splitting and management, adapts to new and old mixed networking, and is compatible with existing 400G link configurations, making it more flexible.

Both products are planned with DSP standard versions, taking into account both general networking and low-latency computing scenarios, supporting multi-granularity rate splitting, and having a wide range of networking adaptability.

II. Core Product Value

1. Dual forms from the same source, precisely tailored to different network configurations.

The two products share the same hardware but differ in their logical architecture: the DR8 focuses on a single-path, minimalist backbone transmission; the 2 × DR4 focuses on dual-channel, flexible load balancing. They can cover newly built high-end computing centers and existing 400G upgraded data centers, eliminating the need for duplicate hardware purchases and reducing upgrade investment.

2. Wide temperature range quality, ensuring stable operation in demanding data centers.

The optimized heat dissipation shell is resistant to high temperatures and high loads, supports 24/7 uninterrupted transmission, has low link loss and low error rate, and is suitable for high-load operating conditions such as AI data centers and supercomputing centers.

3. Dual version specifications, balancing power consumption and latency

The DSP standard version is compatible with conventional cloud data centers, offering balanced and stable performance; the LPO low-power version features simplified circuitry, resulting in lower latency and less energy consumption, effectively optimizing data center PUE and saving on operation and maintenance costs.

4. Multi-rate expansion, adaptable to long-term network iteration

It supports flexible splitting of multiple rates, is compatible with mainstream switches and computing servers on the market, is plug-and-play, and meets the bandwidth expansion needs for many years to come.

Conclusion

The current computing infrastructure is rapidly iterating towards the 800G architecture, making short-to-medium distance parallel optical interconnects the preferred choice for data center upgrades. Leveraging its homogeneous yet heterogeneous design, ETU-Link 800G DR8 and 800G 2 × DR4 can adapt to both single-path backbone transmission and dual-path service offloading, precisely addressing industry pain points such as network transition, bandwidth expansion, and energy consumption management, providing standardized high-speed interconnect solutions for data centers of different sizes.

Deeply rooted in the domestic high-speed optical communication field, ETU-Link Technology Co., Ltd. leverages its rigorous quality control system to refine its high-performance 800G series modules.
